
Daniel Dawes, MBA, MPH, BSC, BSTh
Daniel Henry Dawes was seconded to the Transport Authority as Managing Director effective, January 26, 2009.
As Managing Director, Mr. Dawes has direct responsibility to plan, direct and control the operations of the Authority by means of establishing long and short term strategic goals and formulating and implementing corporate policies that are consistent with government and board directives
Mr. Dawes has a wealth of knowledge in general management, public health and environmental matters. Prior to his employment at the Transport Authority, he was a member of the Board of Directors of The Postal Corporation of Jamaica. During which time he served as Chairman of the Audit and Human Resource Management Committees. He also served as Director - National Health Fund Board, Part-time Lecturer at the University of Technology, Manager, Ministry of Industry, Technology, Energy and Commerce and Senior Director (Regional Coordinator) at National Resources Conservation Authority (NRCA).
Mr. Dawes holds a Master of Business Administration Degree from the University of New Orleans, Graduate School - USA, a Master of Science Degree in Public health from the faculty of Medical Sciences, University of the West Indies, a Bachelor of Science (Hons.) Degree from the University of Technology, and a Bachelor of Sacred Theology Degree. In addition to these accolades, Mr. Dawes has a certificate on the Agreement of Sanitary and Phytosanitary Measures for the Caribbean Countries.
He is a member of several professional associations including; Jamaica Association of Public Health Officers, National Agriculture Health and Food Safety Coordinating Committee, National Codex Alimentarius Committee and the Rotary International.
