Owners/Operators of a public passenger service must ensure that their vehicles are licensed in accordance with the provisions of the law and that their service conforms to the governing laws and guidelines of the Transport Authority.
Other responsibilities:
- Maintain vehicles in a clean state
- Drive within the speed limits and with consideration for other users of the road
- Keep to published timetables and routes at all times
- Stop as close as possible to the curb at bus stops
- Wear identification badges at all times when on duty
- No smoking, eating or drinking while operating Public Passenger Vehicles
- Provide information about fares, routes and other relevant information when necessary
- Show special care for the elderly and disabled in entering and alighting from vehicles
Responsibilities of commuters
- Take legal public passenger vehicles
- Present correct fare for each journey
- Demonstrate courtesy to bus crews
- No eating, smoking or drinking on Public Passenger Vehicles
- Proper disposal of garbage (Do not litter)
- Make suggestions re routes and bus stops to the Transport Authority
