The Transport Authority through its Corporate Social Responsibility Programme will be issuing approximately 30 tablets to children of Public Passenger Vehicles (PPV), ages 7 to 12 years. This initiative is in support of the “Government Tablet in School Programme” which is geared at digitally empowering children, providing them with the necessary tools to function in the online teaching and learning environment.
Qualified PPV operators are invited to complete the attached application form and submit it along with the essay to Miss Trudy Ann Myers at trudy-ann.myers@ta.org.jm by Wednesday, August 31, 2022.
To Qualify the owner/operator:
- Must be the holder of a valid road licence which expires 2023 and beyond or a valid badge which expires 2023 and beyond
- Must present a valid transport authority driver/conductor badge
- The child must submit with the application form a 100 words essay to say why he/she should receive the tablet
Please note it is one (1) tablet per child of PPV owner/operator/household.
